Joplin Bank Robbery suspect arrested in Louisiana by U.S. Marshals

JOPLIN, Mo. — A man who called Joplin Police Detectives saying he wasn’t the Bank Robbery suspect pictures on Facebook, because he was in Pea Ridge, Ark. at the time of the robbery on May 9, has now been arrested in Louisiana.

Vincent P. Gepson has been located and was taken into custody in Crowley, Louisiana on his federal warrant for Bank Robbery.” — Capt William Davis

Crowley, La., is located on I-10 between Lafayette and Lake Charles. It is roughly 625 miles south of Joplin. Circumstances on the arrest are unknown.

Gepson the day of the bank robbery talked also to Anderson Police on the phone but he was not taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant, a search of his residence in Anderson was conducted. Gepson was no where to be found. He had abandoned his dog at the residence. The dog was unharmed.

Gepson, 63, was wanted by authorities regarding the May 9, 2022 Bank Robbery at Great Southern Bank, 1232 S Rangeline, Joplin.

According to the Probable Cause affidavit, “On May 9, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Great Southern Bank located at 1232 South Range Line Road, was robbed by [Vincent Gepson]. [Gepson] entered the bank and proceeded directly to the teller counter and demanded money. [Gepson] informed the victim teller that he had a gun and for the teller to give him $100’s, $50’s and $20’s.”

Man wanted for Joplin, Mo. Bank Robbery

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Vincent Gepson, 63, is wanted by authorities regarding the May 9, 2022 Bank Robbery at Great Southern Bank, 1232 S Rangeline, Joplin.

According to the Probable Cause affidavit, “On May 9, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Great Southern Bank located at 1232 South Range Line Road, was robbed by [Vincent Gepson]. [Gepson] entered the bank and proceeded directly to the teller counter and demanded money. [Gepson] informed the victim teller that he had a gun and for the teller to give him $100’s, $50’s and $20’s.

Could be armed and dangerous. Do not approach. Call 911 or use the US MARSHALS TIPS APP.

Gepson most recently drove a black 2000 Ford Explorer. His residence is Anderson, Mo. He has family in McDonald County, Mo. (Pineville area) and Pea Ridge, Ark.

Bank robbery in Joplin, authorities confirm sharing image of white male suspect

JOPLIN, Mo. — Monday morning tipsters alerted us to police activity at Great Southern Bank, 1232 block S Rangeline.

Capt William Davis of Joplin Police Dept tells us details live from the scene. The bank was robbed shortly after 10 a.m. a white male (pictured) entered the bank and threatened the teller saying he had a weapon.

He left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured inside the bank,” Capt Davis tells us.

The bank has resumed business as normal for the day.

It was June of 2021 this bank was robbed by a man from the Kansas City area. That same day he robbed a bank in Kansas. He is currently incarcerated we learn.

Suspect wanted in Joplin bank robbery, $3500 reward

JOPLIN, Mo. – Authorities are looking for a suspect caught on surveillance robbing a Joplin bank with a weapon.

Today, July 19, 2021, around 12:58 p.m., a 911 caller reported an armed robbery at Great Southern Bank. It’s located at 1232 S. Rangeline Road.

The Joplin Police Department learned that the suspect entered the bank and demanded money while displaying a weapon. A reporting party said the suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No employees were physically harmed.

Joplin Police Department detectives and FBI agents were still investigating the scene as of 2:45 p.m.

Authorities released surveillance images of the suspect and the vehicle he fled the scene in.

Police are asking that if you know the identity of the suspect or have any information regarding this incident, to contact the Joplin Police Department at 417-623-3131.

Additionally, Great Southern Bank is offering a reward of $3,500 for information relating to the identity, arrest, and conviction of the suspect in this case.
