Joplin Bank Robbery suspect arrested in Louisiana by U.S. Marshals

JOPLIN, Mo. — A man who called Joplin Police Detectives saying he wasn’t the Bank Robbery suspect pictures on Facebook, because he was in Pea Ridge, Ark. at the time of the robbery on May 9, has now been arrested in Louisiana.

Vincent P. Gepson has been located and was taken into custody in Crowley, Louisiana on his federal warrant for Bank Robbery.” — Capt William Davis

Crowley, La., is located on I-10 between Lafayette and Lake Charles. It is roughly 625 miles south of Joplin. Circumstances on the arrest are unknown.

Gepson the day of the bank robbery talked also to Anderson Police on the phone but he was not taken into custody.

After obtaining a search warrant, a search of his residence in Anderson was conducted. Gepson was no where to be found. He had abandoned his dog at the residence. The dog was unharmed.

Gepson, 63, was wanted by authorities regarding the May 9, 2022 Bank Robbery at Great Southern Bank, 1232 S Rangeline, Joplin.

According to the Probable Cause affidavit, “On May 9, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Great Southern Bank located at 1232 South Range Line Road, was robbed by [Vincent Gepson]. [Gepson] entered the bank and proceeded directly to the teller counter and demanded money. [Gepson] informed the victim teller that he had a gun and for the teller to give him $100’s, $50’s and $20’s.”
