Car strikes rear-end of tractor trailer under Connecticut Ave Bridge

JOPLIN, Mo. — Just before 8 a.m. Monday morning, November 14, 2022 reports on I-44 east near 7.8 mile marker a passenger car and tractor trailer collided alerting Joplin E-911.

Joplin Fire, Joplin Police and METS ambulance responded.

On the scene Joplin Police Traffic Ofc D. Farmer tells us the passenger car struck the rear end of the tractor trailer that was completing the large hill eastbound which peaks near the Connecticut Ave Bridge.

The collision came to rest under the bridge.

Ofc Farmer says one female driver was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Coats Towing removed the car. The tractor trailer was driven from the scene.

The crash was cleared in about an hour.

Crash on E 32nd sends one person to hospital

JOPLIN, Mo. — Thursday morning at 10:05 a.m. two vehicle crash reported near 32nd and Texas, alerting Joplin Emergency 911.

Joplin Fire Station 5, Newton County Ambulance 42 and Joplin Police responded. MoDOT Emergency Response were notified.

On scene we learn a pickup traveling east on 32nd collided with a red passenger car traveling west.

Ofc Dalton Farmer with Joplin Police Traffic Unit tells us one person was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to an area hospital.

Appleton’s Wrecker and Comer’s Wrecker were both summoned to removed vehicles and debris from the crash scene.

The roadway was cleared in before 11 a.m.

Neighbors and Healthcare Workers rush to assist those injured in head-on crash

JOPLIN, Mo. — Just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday reports of a two vehicle head-on crash at 32nd and Oliver Ave alerted Joplin Emergency Dispatch.

Joplin Fire Dept, Joplin Police, Newton Co Ambulance and METS ambulance responded.

On the scene Joplin Police tell us four people were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Neighbors were the first to respond to the crash telling us they heard the loud crash. Also across the street to the south numerous rushed from Joplin Health and Rehab to assist those injured.

Ofc Dalton Farmer preliminary investigation shows the white vehicle was traveling east on 32nd, turning north onto S Oliver Ave. The black vehicle traveling west on 32nd.

City of Joplin will replace the stop sign taken out in the crash for southbound Oliver Ave travelers. Workers from the city are on the scene now.

Comer’s Wrecker removed the crashed vehicles.
