Doris E. Reed

If you knew Doris, you loved her. If you only heard stories of Doris, you wanted to know her. She lived a full life with many life experiences and adventures that very few are able to have in 88 years. She grew up in Peoria, Illinois, where she was raised by her grandparents. Later as an adult, she moved from Tennessee to Missouri, where she spent a majority of her life. She had 6 children, Sheryl Chesnutt, Gary Michael Jones, Gail Bunch, David Andrew Eads, Lori Javadipour-Isbell, Raymond Eads and a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She owned and operated restaurants and a cleaning business, but her most valued job of all was being a grandmother, or “Grams” as she was often called.  Her grandkids kept her going. She said she always wanted to be the grandmother she didn’t have and have lots of fun with her family! That she did! Traveling to Europe, Hawaii, all over the United States and Caribbean. Vegas was always a popular stop on her travel agenda. She never would shy away from a good time! She enjoyed cooking, gambling, dancing, throwing parties and a good happy hour!

Her many stories and boundless wisdom will forever be cherished and missed.
