CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – $60,000 in federal resources help the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office buy non-lethal weapons, cameras and more.
The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee awarded the grant money.

The Sheriff’s Office will use the money to buy non-lethal weapons, enhanced tasers and cameras on their guns. The goal is to replace outdated technology.
U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) announced the new federal resources at the Sheriff’s office this morning in Columbus, Kansas. Moran represented the Committee.
