Thelma Aleen Bristow

Thelma Aleen Bristow, age 104 of Columbus, KS, passed away at 12:55 PM on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Medicalodge of Columbus.

Thelma was born in Batesville, AR on October 13, 1917 to the union of Mont Ivy and Mamie (Harmon) Ivy. She had lived in Columbus since 1941.

She was united in marriage with C. Homer Bristow in Batesville, AR in 1937. He preceded her in death.

Thelma was a devout Christian and member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Columbus and was baptized in Spring River. She was very active in the church as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher.

She was also active in the PTA at Park School. She was employed part time at Seven Gables Restaurant and Lakeside Motel.

Thelma loved working outside whether it was tending to her vegetable garden or mowing her lawn. She also enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers; four sisters; her children, Homer Dale Bristow, Phyllis Frasier, Saundra Carson, and Brenda Gale Bunney; and two grandsons, Jack Bristow and Jeffrey Carson.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen LoGrasso of Garden City, KS; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and grea-great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 18, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church of Columbus. Pastor Jim Bowles will officiate. Pallbearers serving will be Charles Baldwin, William Bunney, Mike Bristow, Brandon Crossland, William Hayes, and Tristan Shallenburger. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery of Columbus.
