Former MO Gov. Greitens announces U.S. Senate bid

MISSOURI — Former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens announced Monday that he is running for U.S. Senate in Missouri.

Greitens seeks the seat being vacated by U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, 71, who announced earlier this month that he will not run for reelection in 2022.

Greitens resigned as Missouri governor in 2018 under a cloud of suspicion following allegations of unwanted sexual aggression toward a woman from a 2015 incident, and an investigation into alleged campaign violations.
