Strong summer propels Oswego into 2022 season

OSWEGO, Kan. – (WATCH) A strong summer in the weight room propels the Oswego Indians into the 2022 season.

Oswego is aiming to bounce back from a 3-6 overall record in 2021 – their first losing season since 2017.

“Last year was difficult for a number of reasons. Some of those factors were in our control and a lot of them were outside our control,” says head coach Matt Fowler, “We battled kind of an avalanche of adversity last year. With that, we learned that we have to work harder and we have to get better. We’ve responded really well to that so far. We had the best weights attendance that we’ve had since I’ve been here this summer. Not just attendance, it wasn’t just showing up. It was showing up with a purpose.”

“That’s all we could think about was the tragic losses and all that stuff that happened last year,” says senior LB Jon Frisbie on the team’s motivation in the summer, “We’re looking pretty solid so far. We have a lot of new guys in new spots, and they’re looking pretty good so far.”
