Max Eugene Biggerstaff II

Max Eugene Biggerstaff II, 77, of Monett, MO, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 23, 2022 while in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.

Max was born on April 7, 1945 in Stella, MO, son of the late Max Eugene Biggerstaff and Ruth Zelma (Vermillion) Biggerstaff. Max grew up in Monett, graduating from Monett High School with the class of 1963 and then furthered his education at SMS in Springfield. He had worked most of his working years as a Paramedic. Max was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Monett Lions Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

In September of 1994, Max married Kenna Nixon.

Max is survived by two sons, Max Eugene Biggerstaff III and wife Megan, of Kansas City, KS and Brian Biggerstaff, of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Jerrah Biggerstaff and husband Braulio Bosi, of Honolulu, HI; one brother, Roger Jarvis and wife Jamie, of Cypress, TX; three nephews, John Jarvis and wife Linda, of Spring, TX, Jacob Jarvis, of Houston, TX and Gary Evan Jarvis, of Houston, TX; one niece, Bianca Siwek and husband Adam, of Austin, TX; and a host of friends.

Max was preceded in death by his father, Max Eugene Biggerstaff; his mother, Ruth Zelma Jarvis; his step-father, John Winfield Jarvis; and one brother, Gary Jarvis.

A visitation will be held at Buchanan Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 with funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Monett. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to the Monett Lions Club in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Buchanan Funeral Home.
