Carolyn S. ‘Susie” Kuffler

Carolyn S. “Susie” Kuffler, 78, longtime Parsons resident, passed away at 8:12 p.m., Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Labette Health in Parsons.

Susie was born on October 13, 1943, to Clarence Dean and Ann Nadine (Schiebner) Ramsey. She grew up at Parsons and attended Parsons and Labette County schools.

She worked at the Broderick Co., Wal-Mart, at Friendly’s Convenience Store and restaurant, and at local nursing homes as a housekeeper. She was primarily a homemaker and caregiver for her family.

Susie dabbled in painting, crocheting, and arts and crafts. She really loved trying new recipes out the many cookbooks she collected over the years.

She attended Christian and Methodist churches over the years and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Susie and Jerry Kuffler were united in marriage on August 15, 1964, in Parsons. He survives of the home.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Sherri Heitz of Colorado Springs, CO and Patti Kuffler of Mound Valley; four grandchildren, Megan Heitz, Jessica Heitz, Hope Hutchinson, and Cody Robinson; eight great-grandchildren; her brother, Bill Ramsey of Wylie, TX; her sister, Jeannie McDaniel of Parsons; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in by her parents and her sister, Peggy Castle.

Memorial Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Carson-Wall Funeral Home with Pastor Les Green officiating. Burial will be held in the Memorial Lawn Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 Friday evening.
