Olen Laine Hudson

Olen Laine “Laney” Hudson, 74, of Jane Missouri, was called to heaven on Saturday, July 17, 2021, after a short illness.

Olen was born to the late Leo Hudson and the late Wilma (Blevins) Hudson on January 5, 1947. He was united in marriage to the late Betty Jean (Self) Hudson on July 7, 1967 and was blessed with three daughters. He had spent 32 years employed by Fulton Farms and Sanitation in Rogers, Arkansas. He worked part time for Cope Farms in Pineville Missouri. He was one of the best heavy equipment operators and diesel mechanics. He enjoyed coon hunting and trading and training hounds. His passion was breaking colts no one else was brave enough to touch. He never met a stranger to know him was to love him. He loved to pick and joke. Olen and his family opened to the public Whispering Pines Arena in the early 1990`s, where he made lifelong friends. He was one of the most known cowboys around. He was a member of Whittenberg Church in Pineville, Missouri. He stood firm in his Faith and was an honest reliable God fearing gentleman.

He is survived by daughter Kathy Hawkins and Gary of Rogers Arkansas, daughter Toni Banks and Chris of Pineville, Missouri, daughter Angie Hudson of Pineville, Missouri; grandchildren, Jennifer Gatlin and Jeremy of Lowell, Arkansas, Jamie Farmer and Josh of Pineville, Missouri, Tyler Hawkins and Morgan of Lowell, Arkansas, Bailey Ferguson of Pineville, Missouri, Paisley Hudson of Pineville, Missouri; great grandchildren, Roper Hudson, Lainie Farmer, Reagan Farmer and Saylor Hawkins; Siblings, Shirley Millison, Geraldine Hudson, Wayne and Connie Hudson all of Pineville, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Hudson and Wilma Blevins Hudson; wife Betty Jean Self Hudson; a sister, Sharlene Bone; brother in law`s, James Cope, Ronnie Roland, Dane Creason and Bill Millison.

Graveside services are 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Jane Cemetery in Jane, Missouri with Pastor Jamey Cope officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Chris Banks, Josh Farmer, Tyler Hawkins, Tommy Campbell, Anthony Creason and Warren Creason with Wayne Hudson and Jack Downing serving as honorary. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes. Memorials are being directed to the Wild Horse Ministry c/o the funeral home.
