The Jasper County Commission will hold public hearings today and Thursday on a number of traffic changes proposed in the county. No one spoke when the first hearing was held Tuesday as part of the regular commission meeting, according to Jim Honey, Eastern District associate commissioner.

“All of the Season’s Pizza employees participated in punching, kicking and pouring hot soup over my body. I was unarmed and defenseless and had to suffer a brutal beating by all of the employees of Seasons Pizza.” – Nigel Sykes, who tried to rob Seasons Pizza restaurant in Newport, Delaware, at gunpoint, only to have the tables turned on him as he tried to get away. Now Sykes is suing for the injuries he suffered during the robbery, and a U.S. district judge has allowed the case to move forward.
