Humboldt man killed in a wreck with a semi

NEOSHO COUNTY, Kan. – A man dies following a crash in Neosho County, Kansas.

It happened Monday a little before 1:00 p.m. on K-47 at Elk Road. Kansas Highway Patrol says a vehicle driven by 71-year-old Carol Hucke of Parsons, Kansas and her passenger 71-year-old Charles Greer of Humboldt, Kansas were traveling east when they turned in front of a semi.

The semi hit the passenger side of the car, killing Greer. Hucke was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Seneca woman dies in hospital after crash

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. – A Seneca, Missouri woman dies a day after a wreck in Newton County.

It happened Monday around 4:40 p.m. on MO-43 about four miles north of Seneca. Police say a car driven by 35-year-old Stephanie Langland pulled into the path of a utility truck driving north. A passenger of the car, 32-year-old Crystal Ward, was taken to Freeman Hospital where she was pronounced dead Tuesday.

Langland suffered serious injuries, and a 14-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Pryor man killed in wreck between motorcycle and semi

MAYES COUNTY, Okla. – A Pryor, Oklahoma man dies in motorcycle accident Thursday afternoon.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the in happened around 2:52 p.m. on OK-69A at Stretch Film Way in Mayes County, Oklahoma. Police say 30-year-old Ethan Foster died from massive injuries sustained in a wreck with a semi.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation

Galena man killed after his motorcycle hit a telephone pole

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – A Galena, Kansas man is dead following a Motorcycle crash. The wreck happened 0.3 miles North of the State Line Road & 21st Street intersection in Galena.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says 20-year-old Theodore Lane III was driving southbound on State Line Road. Lane left the roadway, struck a telephone pole and was ejected from the motorcycle.

Florida woman killed in Bourbon County wreck with semi

BOURBON COUNTY, Kan. – A Florida woman dies in a wreck on K-7 in Bourbon County, Kansas Tuesday afternoon.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash happened on K-7 two miles south of U.S. 69 around 1:50 p.m. Police say 23-year-old Fabiana Anez-Sierra of Miami, Florida was heading south when her vehicle drifted and crossed the center line. A semi in the northbound lane made an avoidance maneuver to the shoulder, however the vehicles still collided.

Anez-Sierra was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 31-year-old passenger, Alvaro Casadiego suffered serious injuries. A one-year-old passenger and the driver of the semi were both uninjured.

 

11 people injured in southwestern Missouri crash

HOLLISTER, Mo. (AP) – Eleven people have been treated for mostly minor injuries after a shuttle bus and a car collided in southwestern Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident happened at 12:25 a.m. Monday in Taney County, in the Branson area. Two passengers on the bus were treated for moderate injuries. The other passengers and both drivers suffered minor injuries.

The patrol says the bus was turning onto Highway 86 and was struck by a Ford Mustang. All of the bus passengers were from Branson. The bus driver is from Holiday Hills, Arkansas, and the Mustang driver is from Ridgedale, Missouri.

12-year-old boy injured in Branson roller coaster accident

BRANSON, Mo. (AP) – A 12-year-old boy is hospitalized after an accident at a roller coaster attraction in Branson.

Branson officials say the accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Sunday at The Branson Coaster. Emergency responders found the child trapped on a ride with what appeared to be serious injuries. The child had to be extricated. He was flown by helicopter to a Springfield hospital. Details about his injuries have not been released.

The Missouri State Fire Marshall’s office is investigating the cause of the accident.

Pair of UTV accidents in SW Missouri kills two

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – Two separate UTV accidents leave two people dead in Southwest Missouri.

The first crash occurred Tuesday just after 11:00 a.m.  near Highway 90, 10 miles east of Jane, Missouri. Police say a UTV overturned on a private trail. 63 year old Dennis Hurley and 60 year old Jacqueline Hurley both of Warsaw exited a separate UTV and walked downhill towards the wreck. Authorities say the second UTV rolled downhill, striking Dennis and Jacqueline Hurley. Dennis died at the hospital, and Jacqueline suffered moderate injuries.

The second wreck happened near Table Rock Lake in Barry County, Missouri. According to Missouri Highway Patrol, a UTV overturned at Fox Woods Circle about three miles south of Shell Knob. 59-year-old Shari Rains was thrown from the vehicle, she died at the scene.

SW Missouri man killed after being ran over by own tractor

BARRY COUNTY, Mo. – Missouri Highway Patrol (MHP) says  a Crane, Missouri man died in tractor accident Tuesday afternoon.

It happened on Farm Road 2012 about five miles south of Aurora, Missouri around 1:38 p.m. According to MHP, 69-year-old Burl Baum fell off his tractor when it began rolling backwards. The tractor ran Baum over. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is MHP Troop D’s 5th fatality for the month and 51st for the year.

4 killed in three separate Four-State wrecks

OTTAWA COUNTY, Okla. – A total of four people are dead in three separate wrecks in the Four-State area.

The first wreck happened Monday around 11:41 a.m. in Ottawa County, Oklahoma. Police say 48-year-old Douglas Goodner of Skiatook, Oklahoma and his passenger, 59-year-old William McWhit of Sand Springs, Oklahoma died in a wreck with another vehicle on 220 Road north of Afton, Oklahoma. EMS crews transported a second passenger to the hospital in fair condition. The driver of the other vehicle refused treatment. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

A second wreck occurred Monday at 2:49 p.m. in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Police say a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Terrill Lewis Parvin of Kansas, Oklahoma failed to negotiate a curve on OK-10 near Hidden Valley Road. His vehicle ran off the road and down an embankment. Police say Parvin died after being ejected from the vehicle.

Finally in Linn County, Kansas, a wreck took the life of a Mound City, Kansas man. According to Kansas Highway Patrol, Aren Goodall was traveling east on 300 Road Sunday evening when his tire dropped off the road. The vehicle overcorrected and overturned. Goodall was pronounced dead at the scene.
