JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin police say a 42-year-old man was hit by a train around 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning on Murphy Boulevard. They say the collision severed his arm

He was taken to Mercy Hospital awake and alert. Authorities shutdown Murphy Boulevard at the S Wisconsin Avenue intersection.
