Man survives crash over embankment, rescued days later

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. — Taney County Ambulance District Paramedics responded to reports of a single vehicle crash on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. A truck had gone over an embankment, traveling several hundred feet into a creek bed.

The patient reported he had been in the accident several days before that was only able to get to his phone and call for help today.” — TCAD

To bring the patient up to the roadway firefighters set up a rope rescue.

The male was transported to an area hospital, an update on his condition is unknown.

Participating in the rescue and recovery of the victim: Western Taney County Fire Protection District, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Taney County Sheriffs Office and Taney County Ambulance District Paramedics.

Baby was not waiting, born in ambulance

TANEY COUNTY, Mo. — Paramedics delivered a healthy baby girl in the back of their ambulance in eastern Taney County last Friday, October 14, 2022.

Taney County Ambulance were summoned to a residence regarding a woman in labor. They arrived at 9 a.m.

“Paramedics found a patient with obvious signs of imminent delivery. Paramedics knew there would not be enough time to make the nearly 20 mile drive to the hospital. TCAD Paramedics and first responders from Central Taney County Fire Protection District assisted the patent in delivering a healthy baby girl.” — TCAD

Miss Elaine Mudgett was born at 9:06 a.m. in the back of a TCAD ambulance.

Mom and Baby Elaine were transported to Cox Medical Center Branson where they were evaluated and discharged a couple of days later. Both are back home doing well.

Stormy Point Resort offices destroyed by 4-alarm fire near Branson

STONE COUNTY, Mo. — About 8:15 p.m. Thursday evening, September 29, 2022, Southern Stone County Fire were dispatched to 94 Pemberly Lane, Branson.

Branson Engine 3 and Battalion Chief Cizek were first on scene to a three-story, approximately 15,000 square feet, residential type structure, owned by Capital Vacations LLC, that currently housed Stormy Point Resort supplies and maintenance facilities.

“Fire was through the roof on the Charlie [rear] side.” SSCFPD state in a release. “DC M. Moore arrived on scene and assumed command. A second and third alarm were struck.”

All employees were evacuated safely.

Shortly after a fourth alarm was struck for more tankers.

The fire was unable to be stopped due to the compartmentalization of the building and the amount of fuel load. Crews continued operations until approximately 04:00 a.m.

Due to the extent of damage the origin and cause of the fire could not be determined. The structure and contents were a complete loss.” — SSCFPD

All units cleared the scene with no injuries reported.

Two alarm fire at Dutton Theater in Branson, Mo.

BRANSON, Mo. — Just before 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, reports of a commercial structure fire at the Dutton Theater on 3454 West 76 Country Boulevard alerted Branson Firefighters, Taney County Ambulance District and Branson Police.

First arriving unit discovered a trash can completely burned with fire extending upwards in a wooden chase around a support beam. The fire then traveled across the ceiling of the lobby and extended up towards the roof. Firefighters were able to contain the fire at this point.” — BRANSON FIRE

Mutual aid requested after a second alarm included: Western Taney County Fire Protection District and the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District.

Due to high temperatures crews were rotated frequently during rehab assignments with the assistance of additional firefighters.

There were no injuries.

Branson Fire Chief Martin states, “One unique comment heard from the Dutton Family tonight was how thankful they were for the excellent work by the firefighters, but also how thankful they are for several other Branson Theaters that reached out to offer assistance!” He added, “We hope to see the Dutton’s on stage soon!

The fire has been determined to be accidental in nature. Fire damage was contained to the front corner of the building and above the lobby ceiling. Smoke damage was noted throughout.

No one was in the building at the time of the fire as The Duttons are on a short summer break. Their next show is scheduled for Sunday, July 17. To check status of scheduled performances, contact information on their website can be found here.
