Man wanted in Homicide Investigation near Camdenton, Mo.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. — A man is wanted as suspect in a Homicide investigation.

Late Tuesday night Camden County Communications Officers received a 911 call from a woman claiming her boyfriend had been hit by a car in their driveway at 494 Georgene Road, north of Camdenton.

Camden County Deputies arrived and discovered Michael S Varney, 43, deceased on the front porch of his house. During investigation it was determined Varney was killed as a result of being struck with a vehicle.

Further investigation revealed Varney had been in an argument earlier in the day with a roommate. Eyewitness accounts describe the argument as volatile. Witnesses on scene describe a vehicle striking Varney and then fleeing the scene.

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the suspect in this case identified as Jordan Fitzgerald Jones, 32, of Camdenton. Jones is known to frequent Camdenton, Macks Creek, and Lebanon and has ties throughout the lake area.”

Jones could be driving a late 1990s green or teal extended cab Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck may have recent front end damage from the incident on Georgene Road.

Jones has an active warrant for absconding issued by the Department of Probation and Parole.

U.S. Marshals seek wanted man; Reward up to $10,000

BRANSON, Mo. – The Branson Police Dept encourage the public to share a Wanted poster for Herman Arthur Carroll Sr. The US Marshals have updated information today, June 29, 2022 on his whereabouts.  He could be in the Springfield and Branson area.  He could be camping in the wilderness and living among homeless encampments. He has been on the run from authorities for two decades.

• Carroll’s hair is typically disheveled.
• He is currently thought to be clean-shaven.
• In the past, he typically wore a mustache.
• Carroll has a birthmark/discoloration on his abdomen.

Scars and Tattoos:

• Carroll has a scar on his right finger.
• He has a scar on his left wrist.
• On his left shoulder, Carroll has a tattoo of a red heart with the name “JOANNE” in the center.
• On his right shoulder, he has a “family tree” with the initials of family members on two branches.
• One branch has the initial “K” on the main branch, with three offshoot branches. These three offshoot branches contain the letters “E”, “K”, and either “C” or “H”.
• The second primary branch contains the letter “J” with three offshoot branches, containing the letters “N”, “E”, and “B”.

On July 3, 2000, Herman Carroll was arrested for sexually assaulting his 12 year old daughter. He is a child sex offender with two prior convictions. He is currently WANTED in Moultrie County, Illinois for: Failure to Appear, Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, Criminal Sexual Assault, and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. He is a skilled trim finisher specializing in new construction. He has family in the Peoria and Mt. Vernon areas of Illinois. Frequently stays in campgrounds. Possible locations are: The Ozarks, Las Vegas, or the Florida Keys.

• Springfield, MO
• Carroll is believed to be hiding out in homeless camps in the wilderness of Springfield, Mo.

Barry County Sheriff’s office seek those wanted on warrants

BARRY COUNTY, Mo. — The Sheriff’s office each Wednesday in Barry County issue two individuals as wanted in their jurisdiction. They ask the public to assist with information on their whereabouts.

April 20, 2022, two men are wanted on unrelated cases and unrelated charges.
