I-44 tractor trailer swerves and overturns near Sarcoxie, Mo.

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Thursday afternoon at 12:48 p.m. reports of a tractor trailer overturned near 27.6 mile marker I-44 alerted Jasper County E911.

Sarcoxie Rural Fire, Carthage Fire Dept, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded. MoDOT Emergency Response and Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

On scene Missouri State Highway Patrol Tpr T.C. Smith tells us a sleepy driver could be to blame.

The tractor trailer was traveling eastbound, witnesses tell Tpr Smith it drifted to the median and then quickly to the right, overturning and losing its load of sheet metal across both eastbound lanes.

The lone male driver was transported to a Joplin hospital suffering light scrapes and bruises, non-life-threatening injuries.

M&M Wrecker were summoned to upright the tractor trailer and remove the sheet metal debris. Traffic was disrupted all afternoon in the eastbound lanes.

Joplin woman killed in crash on Route 66 west of Joplin

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Just after 6 p.m. Wednesday evening Jasper County E911 were alerted to reports of a two vehicle crash at W 7th and Central City Road.

Carl Junction Fire Dept, METS ambulance, and Jasper County Deputies responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

An off-duty Joplin firefighter initially assisted before crews arrived.

On scene we learn from Tpr T.C. Smith a southbound passenger vehicle on Central City Road failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle on West 7th. Both traveled into the SE ditch.

Dylan Anderson, 20, was operating a 2005 Ford 500. He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West by private vehicle.

Cynthia Myers, 71, of Joplin, was transported by METS to Freeman West where she was pronounced deceased. Next of kin were notified overnight. Joplin News First delayed the released of any information and images until the initial publishing of this article.

Rosenberg Towing removed the crashed vehicles from the scene.

Car goes off road, takes out interstate exit sign; Traffic merging, secondary crash occurs

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — About 12:30 p.m. Sunday along MO-171 eastbound near the Brooklyn Heights exit between Carterville and Carthage a single vehicle crash was reported to have taken down a large road sign in a crash, Jasper County E911 dispatched responders emergency.

Carthage Fire Dept, Mercy Ambulance and Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies responded. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

On the scene MSHP Trooper T.C. Smith tells us a passenger vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a large sign and natural bluff/limestone wall.

Also eastbound shortly after the single vehicle crash as traffic was merging a secondary crash occurred where two vehicles went into the median.

There were two in the original single vehicle crash transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It’s unknown how many were transported in the secondary crash in those two vehicles.

M&M Wrecker and Schrader’s Towing removed all vehicles to clear the scene.

Car overturns numerous times in crash near Snowball

JASPER COUNTY, Mo. — Just before 9:30 a.m. on Friday morning Jasper County E911 were alerted to a crash on North Schifferdecker.

Carl Junction Fire Dept, Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies, and METS ambulance responded emergency. Missouri State Highway Patrol were notified.

Missouri State Highway Patrol tell us on scene the female driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Now more information is revealed in the preliminary crash report released Friday evening. Madison Bennett, 20, of Joplin was driving the BMW 318i, and suffered moderate injuries.

[BMW} traveled off the right side of the roadway, became airborne, and struck the ditch.  [BMW] then struck a metal post, a fence, and overturned.” – Tpr T.C. Smith of Jasper County Zone of Troop D, MSHP

Witnesses say the vehicle was traveling with the top down at a high rate of speed southbound before it left N Schifferdecker to the west, overturning numerous times and traveling through a fence.

Trooper T.C. Smith of Troop D says the driver was wearing her seat belt. No doubt saving her from serious injuries being ejected.

H&H Wrecker removed the vehicle from the crash scene. There was significant property damage to the fence the car traveled through.
