Crews respond to stranded vehicles, other calls during severe flooding

JOPLIN, Mo. – Crews conduct water rescues and close off roads due to flooding in the 4-state area.

The Joplin Regional Airport picked up 2.84″ of rain so far today as of 4:35 p.m. Parts of Joplin and other areas see more as flood warnings continue. Download the SkyWatch App for updated forecasts.

The Joplin Police Department, around 1:15 p.m., continued dealing with stranded vehicles. They say multiple roads around town are not passable and there are trees and debris in roadways. “The conditions and affected areas change moment by moment so we discourage unnecessary travel and encourage safe driving,” states the Joplin Police Department.
