SUV leaves Jackson Ave crashing into tree, two people required extrication

JOPLIN, Mo. – Just after 9 p.m. Tuesday night reports of a single vehicle crash near 3800 block of S Jackson near the Oak Pointe Neighborhood entrance alerted Joplin Emergency Dispatch.

Joplin Police, Joplin Fire Dept and EMS crews responded.

On scene Ofc B. Eckels of JPD tells us the northbound vehicle left the roadway to the right, down an embankment into a tree.

It took about 10 minutes to extricate two people, male driver and female passenger were transported to Mercy Joplin with non-life-threatening injuries.

Affordable Towing removed the vehicle from the crash scene.

3800 block S Jackson is in the bottom of the valley at the edge of the runoff creek, just north of the Oak Pointe Neighborhood entrance.
