Warm and breezy through Friday; Slight rain chance tomorrow

Temperatures will soar into the upper 60s this afternoon as southerly winds gust up to 30 MPH at times today. We’ll be calm, but warm overnight before we warm into the lower 70s tomorrow ahead of a cold front that could bring some of us light rain showers during the midday and afternoon hours of Friday. Most should stay dry as the majority of the rain showers and even some thunderstorms should remain to our east. We’ll cool to near average temperatures on Saturday before another warming trend leads us into next week.

Warmer today; Rollercoaster of temperatures ahead

Wednesday has a cooler start to it, but we’ll warm above average today with highs in the middle to upper 50s and mostly sunny skies. Overnight, winds will pick up and gust up to 30 MPH through Friday ahead of a cold front. This will bring partly cloudy conditions and much warmer temperatures, including close to another record high temperature on Friday. Friday’s cold front won’t be associated with much rain, but a stray shower or two cannot be ruled out over the Four States. The bulk of the rain, however, should stay to our east. This will cool us to seasonal conditions on Saturday before we warm above average yet again into next week.

Mostly cloudy and cool today; Much warmer by the end of the week

Temperatures should warm to near average today with mostly cloudy skies. We should be in the 40s with a slight wind chill for the Joplin Christmas Parade tonight, so bundle up! The sun will make many appearances through Thursday as temperatures gradually rise into the middle 70s by Friday, potentially breaking another record high for December. A cold front will cool us down into the weekend, but rain is looking to stay primarily to our east during this event. We should warm above average again by the start of next week.

Much cooler today; Another warm up by the end of the week

After last night’s cold front, we’ll see mostly sunny skies and temperatures only warming into the middle 40s this afternoon. This morning is a little breezy, but winds will calm overnight as clouds increase and temperatures drop into the upper 20s. Rain should primarily dodge us to the east late tomorrow, as temperatures warm into the end of the week. By Friday, we should be in the lower 70s with a slight rain chance that will cool us into the upper 40s again this weekend.

Very warm Friday; Slightly cooler and mostly dry this weekend

Yesterday broke records for warmest temperatures on December 2nd in the Four States, and today could do the same with highs in the 70s expected again. We’ll see clouds increase today as winds shift overnight out of the north, allowing for slightly cooler conditions this weekend. We are also watching a very small chance for rain Saturday night into Sunday morning, but the majority of the rain will stay well to our southeast. Temperatures will be in the 60s this weekend before dropping into the middle 40s by Monday with the passing of a cold front. Temperatures should be near normal through the middle of next week, where we could see a few more rain chances. We’ll keep you updated!

Near record warmth through Friday; Cooler with rain possible this weekend

The record high temperatures for December 2nd and 3rd in Joplin are 74° and 73° respectively, and we will likely hit or even break those this year. Thursday will feature plentiful sunshine before clouds increase through Friday ahead of our slight weekend rain chances. We will be slightly cooler, but still above average for Saturday and Sunday. Rain should primarily stay to our southeast this weekend, but some of us could see some showers, with the best chance looking to be Sunday morning. Totals will likely be less than a quarter inch. We should begin next week dry and below average before we enter into an unsettled weather pattern that could lead to more rain chances through the extended forecast.

Warm through Friday; Cooler with some showers this weekend

The first day of December will see lots of sunshine and high temperatures in the upper 60s. We’ll warm into the 70s for Thursday and Friday, which could potentially break records for warmest temperatures on December 2nd and 3rd in parts of the Four States. A cold front will pass over the region Friday evening, cooling us into the weekend and potentially dropping a few rain showers over parts of the Four States. This weekend’s rain should primarily stay to our southeast, but we’ll watch another rain chance heading toward Tuesday with seasonal temperatures to begin next week.

A few more clouds today; Very warm start to December

Temperatures will be in the middle 60s today and tomorrow, with just a few extra clouds this afternoon. We could potentially see record-breaking high temperatures on Thursday and Friday across the Four States as we warm into the 70s. A cold front could bring some rain early Saturday, but we’re currently in a very dry air mass, so rain could have a hard time making it to the ground. One thing we will definitely see from this front is cooler temperatures through the weekend and even through the beginning of next week.

Very warm and mostly dry through the week

The average high temperature for this time of year is in the lower 50s, and we’ll be about 15-20 degrees above that through the week. Expect temperatures in the 60s and 70s as we end November and begin December this week. A cold front looks to pass over us late Friday and into Saturday that will cool us down a bit into the weekend, but rain chances look very slim at this point. This is something we’ll keep an eye on over the next several days, but the next 2 weeks look to stay mostly dry and warm.

Fall-like for Friday; Warming through the end of November

After a chilly Thanksgiving, temperatures will warm back to near average conditions for Black Friday with abundant sunshine and winds out of the southwest at about 20 MPH. We’ll warm into the lower 60s tomorrow before a cold front approaches us late Saturday. This front will be weak, but it will allow for temperatures to cool back into the middle 50s on Sunday. No rain chances are in the forecast and winds should be calm for this weekend, so it’ll be a good one to get those outdoor decorations up! We’ll warm into the 60s as we end November and begin the last month of 2021 next week.
