Rosin up your bow…it’s time for the 25th Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival

Cavanaugh Studyvin from the Carl Junction Chamber of Commerce stops by the studio to talk with Tawnya Bach about Carl Junction’s 25th Bluegrass Festival. This event has become more than a showcase for bluegrass bands and musicians: you can find various arts and crafts projects, explore the history of Carl Junction, food trucks, beer and wine garden, and so much more. And that’s just the day of the festival – it all kicks off with a 5k run/walk on Friday, September 23rd. Here’s all the information you need about the 25th Carl Junction Bluegrass Festival:

September 23rd – 5k Glow Run/Walk

  • Kids 400m fun run takes off at 6 p.m.
  • 5k starts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Red Bridge Bluegrass Band plays @ 6:30 p.m.

September 24th – Explore The Park

  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Emmanuel Baptist Church lets “Freedom Ring”

Patrick Stone from the Emmanuel Baptist Church sat down with KOAM’s Tawnya Bach to talk about their annual “Let Freedom Ring” event. The event will feature fun for the whole family with hamburgers and hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones, inflatables and a sprinkler system supplied by the fire department. Plus, there’ll be contests, a veterans recognition, free ice cream and a fireworks show. Here are the details:

Springtime in the Ozarks Cat Show Event

Neosho, MO — Show Me Cat Fanciers stopped by studio to talk about their cat show happening this Saturday starting at 9 am and ending at 4 pm.  The event is at the Newton County Fairgrounds located at 700 Field Avenue in Neosho, MO. The price for tickets are as follows:

  • $8 for adults
  • $5 for children aged 6-12 and seniors over the age of 65
  • Kids 5 & under are free
  • A family 4 pack for  $20

There will be over one hundred cats at the show including  Persians, Ragdolls, Maine Coon, and 35 plus other breeds. There are free cat coloring books and you can shop for catty gifts and more.
