Watered Gardens begins presales for Empty Bowls

JOPLIN, Mo. — Watered Gardens Ministries in Joplin is holding a presale for bowls for their 10th Annual Empty Bowls event to provide relief for local hunger.

Patrons buy handcrafted pottery bowls, enjoy a serving of soup, and then have an empty bowl to take home to remind them that somewhere, someone is hungry.

Funds from the event go to support organizations that feed people in the area.

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Coming soon! The annual 56th Maple Leaf is here. Starting on September 30th — there’s something for everyone going on until October 15th. From an Agatha Christie play at Stone’s Throw Dinner Theatre to a parade happening on October 15th starting on the Historic Carthage Square. There’s something for everyone — so you don’t want to miss it! Earning tips with a flare of theatre and pizza

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Carl Junction High School International Thespian Society invites you out to Cicis Pizza. Why? Well — it’s for a good cause. They’re raising funds to be able to go to the state conference in Kansas City. It’s where theatre thespians learn new techniques taught by professionals. The thespians will be out in costumes at Cicis earning tips from 5-9 PM. So, if you’re feeling a little hungry for pizza on Monday — Cicis is the place to be!

Feeding Inc. hosts a silent auction and dinner

 

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Want to help an organization that helps others? Feeding Inc based out of Carthage, MO wants you to attend their annual fundraising dinner and silent auction. Being held at the CW&EP building in Carthage (627 W Cenntenial St) on October 3rd at 6:30 PM — admission is $30. You can also get tickets from Feeding Inc. located at 210 N River St in Carthage. Get groovy with Club Comingo

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Missouri is throwing a party and wants you to get groovy.  Happening on October 8th with the doors opening at 5:30 PM — the theme for Club Comingo is the 60s. So, you can come dressed up in costume or just throw on something business casual.  The silent auction begins at 6 PM and ends at 8 PM, dinner begins at 7 PM, and the live auction/fund-a-future starts at 9 PM.  This is happening at the Boys and Girls club located at 317 Comingo, Joplin, MO. Carl Junction celebrates 25 years of bluegrass festivities

CARL JUNCTION, Mo. – Carl Junction today hosted its 25th Annual Bluegrass Festival at Center Creek Park.

Officials say they are excited to commemorate 25 years of celebrations with plenty of fun for the family including:

  • Crafts
  • Beer & Wine garden
  • Petting zoo
  • Bounce houses
  • Live music

the festival says they have over 20 food vendors and more than 60 craft booths.
