TANEY COUNTY, Mo. — Paramedics delivered a healthy baby girl in the back of their ambulance in eastern Taney County last Friday, October 14, 2022.
Taney County Ambulance were summoned to a residence regarding a woman in labor. They arrived at 9 a.m.
“Paramedics found a patient with obvious signs of imminent delivery. Paramedics knew there would not be enough time to make the nearly 20 mile drive to the hospital. TCAD Paramedics and first responders from Central Taney County Fire Protection District assisted the patent in delivering a healthy baby girl.” — TCAD
Miss Elaine Mudgett was born at 9:06 a.m. in the back of a TCAD ambulance.
Mom and Baby Elaine were transported to Cox Medical Center Branson where they were evaluated and discharged a couple of days later. Both are back home doing well.
Paramedics in Taney County respond to thousands of calls for service each year and occasionally those calls include emergency childbirth.
