Crime victims’ rights awareness week gets national attention

The spotlight of national recognition shines on crime victims this week. Amanda Douglas, the coordinator for the Office of Victim Services for the Missouri Department of Corrections, sat down with KOAM’s Tawnya Bach to talk about the annual observation of crime victims’ rights awareness week and this year’s theme: Rights, Access, Equity. Amanda explained its function and what rights victims of crime have. In addition, she also wanted to get the word out about a candlelight vigil being held in Jefferson City.
