Crossland named “Sports in Kansas” 2A Player of the Year

PITTSBURG, Kan. – St. Mary’s Colgan senior pitcher Kaitlin Crossland has added another award to her already impressive senior campaign.

“Sports in Kansas” has named Crossland the 2A Player of the Year, after leading her team to back-to-back 2A state championships.

Crossland was 20-2 in the circle for the Panthers this season, with a 1.45 ERA. She picked up 205 strikeouts in her senior campaign. She was also great at the plate, hitting .494 with 12 doubles, 4 triples and 8 home runs – driving in 40 runs on the season.

Her teammates Ashley Marietta and Allie Marietta were also on the 2A All-State 1st team list released on Monday.
