Frontenac’s “The Dance Pitt” takes home national awards

FRONTENAC, Kan. – The Dance Pitt in Frontenac, Kansas is celebrating some big accomplishments.

The dance team recently went to Branson for a national competition, facing more than a dozen other dance studios. The Dance Pitt won two national titles and a second runner-up national title.

Champion Dasncer Tatum said, “I get to spend time with friends, and I just love dancing because I really get to express how I feel. It’s just very fun.”

The Dance Pitt is also celebrating its 10th year of operations.

Lamar student wins state graphic design competition

LAMAR, Mo. – A Lamar, Missouri high school student is set to participate in a national competition.

Jolee Rector placed second at the district level of the Skills USA Competition and won state. She participated in the graphic design competition.

“Basically they give you a company name, (that’s) what it’s all about,” said Rector. “You have to create an ad that makes people want to buy it or make people want to use that company.”

The competitions have been held virtually using two cameras. That will continue for nationals.
