Auto shop burns on Main Street in Webb City, Mo.

WEBB CITY, Mo. — About 4:30 p.m. Friday reports of a commercial structure fire at 501 N Main alerted Webb City 911.

Webb City Fire, METS ambulance and Webb City Police responded. Joplin Fire and Oronogo Fire were requested via auto-mutual aid. Jasper County Sheriff’s Deputies and Oronogo Police.

Witnesses tell Joplin News First Fire and smoke was pouring out of the structure. Smoke could be seen up to a mile away.

C.B.D. AUTO+ is an interesting name but it has nothing to do with CBD oil we were told. On their FB page it is just by chance the owners last names make the LLC name. They do not sell CBD products here.

Webb City Battalion Chief Jeremy Denton tells us on scene employees were working on a vehicle inside the building bay and fire erupted. They were unable to get two vehicles out, both burned.

B.C. Denton says that no workers were injured and no firefighters.

With the temperature at 95° it actually felt like it was over 100°. METS ambulance were busy passing out water to everyone on the scene and checking on firefighters.

The building interior appears to be a total loss.
