Due to recent ice storms, Pittsburg Parks and Recreation will be opening the Burn site on Friday, December 27th from 8:30am – 3:00pm, weather permitting. The burn site will also be open the following week (except New Year’s Day) December 30th – January 3rd from 8:30-3:00pm.

The City Council has advanced a proposal for a $2.5 million bond issue to pay for construction of a city swimming pool. The council approved the first reading of the measure by a 6-0 vote during a meeting Monday night. The panel will vote Jan. 13 whether to place the proposal on the April 8 election ballot.
