Goble, Rieck sign at Girard High School

GIRARD, Kan. – A pair of Girard High School senior student-athletes signed on Thursday afternoon to continue their careers at the college level.

Eleanor Rieck signed to play softball at Neosho County Community College in Chanute, Kansas.

“They just have a really amazing program. When I went on my visit, their facilities were amazing,” Rieck says, “The coach and the girls that I met with were really kind and made me feel very comfortable around them.”

“I was like oh it’s only 45 minutes away from the house. I could make it home over the weekend and see my parents or my younger brother if I wanted to,” Rieck adds on staying close to home, “They can come watch me play. That’s nice because…I always say that my mom is my biggest cheerleader.”

Sara Goble is headed to Fort Scott to continue her volleyball career at Fort Scott Community College.

“I wanted to go to Fort Scott because they have a great atmosphere and a great family community. They opened their doors to me and they are so nice, kind and loving people,” Goble says, “They love their girls, they believe in their girls and they work hard for their girls.”

“My goal is to have fun. That’s my main goal,” Goble adds, “I eventually want to move on and continue playing,  but if I don’t, that’s ok. Having fun is the most important thing to me.”
