Michael Leroy Parker, age 67, Diamond, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at his home after a sudden illness.

Mike was born September 24, 1955 in Joplin, son of the late Jackson Leroy Parker and Evelyn (Box) Parker.  He grew up in the Duquesne and Saginaw and finally Diamond areas, and graduated from Diamond High School.  He was a lifelong Diamond resident who loved being outdoors fishing or hunting, and was even privileged to go on an African Safari with friends.  He was a hard worker with King Press, and loved spending time with his family and friends.  He will be greatly missed by many.

Survivors include his son, Dane Parker and wife Karen of Joplin; grandchildren, Avery Parker, Amelia Parker, and Addalee Parker all of Joplin; his longtime companion, Tammy Putnam of Diamond; two brothers, Mark and Monte Parker both of Joplin; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Saginaw Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Thornhill-Dillon Chapel on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
