Michael C. Allison, 68, of rural Parsons, passed away at 8:30 p.m., Friday, December 2, 2022, at his home.
Michael Clifton Allison was born on July 11, 1954, to Robert Day and Shirley Kay (Dains) Allison in Newport, Rhode Island. As an infant, he moved with his family to Oswego, where he grew up and attended school, graduating from Oswego High School in 1972.
Following high school, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pittsburg State University. He worked as a bookkeeper for various local businesses until his kidney transplant in 2013.
On June 7, 1975, Michael and Susan Johnson were united in marriage at the Oswego Methodist Church. The couple lived in Pittsburg for a time and then Altamont before settling in their current home in rural Parsons in 1977.
He was an active member of Center Bethel Church in rural Parsons, serving as the church board treasurer for 22 years. He was also involved with the church’s children’s bell choir. For several years, Michael was on the Twin Valley Board. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. He also enjoyed doing cross stitch, woodworking, and flower gardening.

Shawn Allison and his wife, Ann, of Booneville, Arkansas
Spence Allison and his wife, Lisa, of rural Parsons, Kansas
One daughter – Bobbi Allison of rural Parsons, Kansas
Six grandchildren – Robert Kelley Allison, Chloe Allison, Ava Allison, Ayden Rhinehart, Harriet Allison, Amory Allison and one on the way
One brother – Donnie Allison and his wife, Janie, of Prairie Village, Kansas
One sister – Kim Atkins and her husband, Colin, of Dennis, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Center Bethel Church in rural Parsons. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
