Marvin Dean Surls, age 87, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 6:51 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Aurora Nursing Center, in Aurora, Missouri. He was born June 2, 1935, in Bellflower, Missouri, the son of David Clarence and Virginia Oronda (Clark) Surls.

Dean was a United States Navy Veteran and was a truck driver for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing,

On December 21, 1988, he married Grace Ann Allred, in Battlefield, Missouri. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2010.

Dean is survived by two daughters, Linda Beeson of Springfield, Missouri and Kathy Helms and her husband, Dan, of Osceola, Missouri; two sons, Johnny Allen and his wife, Karen, of Miller, Missouri and Jerry Allen and his wife, Terri, of Mt. Vernon; one brother, Leroy Surls and his wife, Helen, of Moscow Mills, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Dawn Allen; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, David, and Virginia; wife, Grace; son, Larry Allen; grandson, Lynn Beeson; two brothers, Lloyd and Gene Surls and son-in-law, Bill Beeson.

Burial will be held at a later date at the Lee Cemetery in Verona, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
