Betty J. Hollon

Betty J. Hollon, 86 of rural St. Paul, Kansas passed away at 1:25 a.m., Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital of Pittsburg.

Betty was born January 3, 1936 in St. Paul, Kansas a daughter of Alphonse and Mary (Konda) Beller.

She attended school in St. Paul, graduating from the St. Paul High School.

On April 19, 1958, Betty was united in marriage to James Hollon in Kansas City, Missouri, he preceded her in death on June 21, 1991.

Betty was a member of the St. Francis Catholic Church and the Altar Society both of St. Paul.

Betty was employed as an adjuster for the Internal Revenue Service.

She enjoyed sports of any kind, especially watching the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals baseball, K.U. basketball and K-State football. While living in Kansas City she played semi-pro basketball.

Betty is survived by one daughter, Joyce Hollon and her wife Belinda of St. Paul, grandchildren, Jodie Blackburn and her husband Garth, Jamie Kuehn and her husband Joey both of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, great-grandchildren, Hartley Blackburn, Braelee Kuehn, Gatlin Kuehn, sister in law, Emma Ludwig and her husband Larry.

In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Mary Elizabeth Hollon, two brothers, Robert Beller, Leonard Beller, three sisters, Norene Lero, Margaret Skinner and Alice Phillips.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 8, 2022 at the St. Frances Catholic Church of St. Paul, Kansas with Fr. Theodore Khin as celebrant, burial will follow in the St. Francis Cemetery. A Rosary will be held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 7 at the St. Francis with visitation to follow until 6:30. Friends are invited to sign the register book after 2:00 p.m., Wednesday at the St. Francis Church. Memorials are suggested to the St. Francis Catholic Church and these may be left at the church or mailed to the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 518 W. St. John St., P.O. Box 258 Girard, Kansas 66743.
