WEBB CITY, Mo. – Webb City High School head football coach and athletic director John Roderique has announced his retirement, effective at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
Roderique has been the head football coach at Webb City for the last 26 years, going 315-35 overall and leading the program to 13 state championships. He was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2021 – and Webb City’s 16 total state championships is the most in Missouri high school football history.
Webb City High School and coach Roderique released a statement Monday afternoon to announce his decision.
The release reads in part, “For the past 26 years, I’ve been able to do what I love, with the people that I love – every single day. What a privilege it has been. Thank you to the administrators, teachers and staff, and special thanks to the assistant coaches and young men who have poured their hearts into our program.”
