Gloria Mae Westervelt, 81, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at the Ascension Via Christi Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1941 at Pittsburg, the daughter of Pete and Madie (Prichard) Antonetti. She graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1959.
On August 12, 1961, she was united in marriage to Lennie Westervelt. He survives at the family home.
Mrs. Westervelt was a cook for USD 247 and helped with the family farm.
She was active with the Cherokee Ruritan Club and the American Legion of Cherokee. She loved to cook and was quick to help anyone who needed, especially if they needed a meal.
In addition to her husband, Lennie, she is survived by a son, Derek Westervelt of rural Pittsburg; a daughter, Tianne Westervelt of Cherokee, Kansas; a sister, Charlene Brown and her husband, Sam of Girard; two brothers, Alfred and Paul Antonette; a step-granddaughter, Darcey O’Brhym; and two step great-grandchildren, Henry and Margot O’Brhym.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Pauline Weston.
