Bonnie Louise Barker, age 92, of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 4:15 a.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri. She was born June 7,1930, in Lawrence County, Missouri, the daughter of William Monroe and Ethel Clarice (Pennington) Duke.
Bonnie was a homemaker and a member of the Round Grove Baptist Church.
On December 10, 1947, she married Ansel Merrick, in Springfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1981. On December 9, 1998, she married Bobby Barker in Nashville, Tennessee. He preceded her in death on December 27, 2021.
Bonnie is survived by her son, David Merrick and his wife, Tami, of Willard, Missouri; two daughters, Gilda Hendrix and her husband, Cloyce, of Miller and Donna Bowen-Frohman and her husband, Leo, of Springfield, Missouri; two stepchildren, Michael Barker and his wife, Sally, of Milford, Michigan and Shari Barker, of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Maxine Brashers of Marionville, Missouri and Janet Winsor, of Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Clarice; her husbands, Ansel, and Bobby; her daughter, Brenda Merrick; two grandsons; six sisters and three brothers.
A visitation under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, will be held from 10:00–11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at the Round Grove Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at the Round Grove Cemetery.
Memorial donations in memory of Bonnie, may be made payable to the Missouri Council of the Blind, in care of the funeral home.
