Lori Michele Hoagland, age 49, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022 at her home with family by her side.
Lori was born July 30th, 1973 to the union of Willard and Wanda (Owens) Murphy. She worked as a secretary for Rigdon Inc. for many years and excelled very quickly at her job. Lori married her best friend, Matthew Hoagland, on May 13th, 2016 in Joplin, MO. She enjoyed watching musicals and especially her favorite, Hamilton. She loved animals and most importantly, pugs. She also enjoyed 80’s music, concerts, and art. Above everything though, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Lori was preceded in death by her father, Willard Murphy.
Lori is survived by her husband, Matthew Hoagland; two children, Braton and Cassidy Wagner, of the home; mother, Wanda Murphy, of Quapaw, OK; brother, Rob Murphy and wife, Marady, of Neosho, MO; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sara and Steve Shelton, of Joplin; three nieces, Nikki Murphy, of Lenexa, KS, Aliyah “AJ” Hoagland, Savannah Turner and husband, Timmond; one nephew, Jordan “JoJo” Shelton.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to the Joplin Humane Society.
