Braden Fletcher Mathern, 26, of Carthage, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022. Braden was born on July 29, 1996, to Daniel and Christy “Slates” Mathern in Joplin, Missouri. He graduated from Carthage High School and attended trade school where he earned his welding license. Other than working various welding jobs, he also worked on the family farm. Braden liked to shoot guns, go fishing, and was a fan of MoKan Raceway.
Braden is survived by his dad, Daniel Mathern and wife Cher Jiang; mom, Christy Mathern and fiancée Chris Jacobsen; sister, Brittany Carnagey and husband Erin of Carthage; niece, Paizlee; grandparents, Jean Mathern of Carthage, Janett Crow of Oklahoma, and Jack and Jeannie Slates of Carthage; two aunts, Kelly Bloom and Kara Bruton; five uncles, Josh Slates, Justin Slates, Michael Slates, James Slates, and Guy Bloom.
He was preceded in death by his aunt Nicole Mathern.
A funeral service is scheduled for Braden at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. A visitation will be held the night prior from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 25, 2022. Burial will follow the service on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Dudman Springs Cemetery, southeast of Carthage, Missouri.
