BOONE COUNTY, Mo. – Boone County Deputies are searching for a suspect after a victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

At around 2:30 A.M., deputies responded to the 16000 block of S James Sapp Road to investigate a report of a subject who had been shot.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male victim who is believed to have been shot at a nearby residence.

The Sheriff’s Office says there is no reason to believe this was a random assault and we have no information to indicate there is a threat to the general public.

This is an active investigation, and more information may be released at a later time.
