Peggy A. Brown

Peggy A. “Peg” Brown, 82, of St. Paul, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Saturday, November 19, 2022, at her home.

Peggy Ann Main was born on November 1, 1940, to Elmer and Agnes Pauline (Taylor) Main in rural Independence, Kansas.  She grew up and attended school in the Independence area, graduating from Wayside High School in 1958.

On March 25, 1965, Peggy and Charlie Brown were united in marriage in Howard, Kansas. In 1975, the family moved from Independence to St. Paul, where they have lived since.

Over the years, Peg worked at the Living Skill Center and also was a bus driver for USD 101 and USD 505.

She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and Altar Society in St. Paul.  For many years, she coached youth summer softball and enjoyed playing in a women’s softball league.  An outdoorswoman at heart, Peg enjoyed fishing, hunting and mowing yards.  Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

Two children – Kelly Voorhies (James) of St. Paul, Kansas & Charlie Brown of St. Paul, Kansas

Ten grandchildren – Braedin Voorhies, Billy Brown, Khloe Brown, Dustin Blackmore (Whitney), and Dylan Blackmore of St. Paul, Kansas; Renee Brown (Garrett) of Pittsburg, Kansas; Shay Hammonds (Dustin) of Erie, Kansas; Jessica McClintick, Jerod Brewer (Brittany), and Jaden Brewer of Wichita, Kansas.

Seven great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kim Faciano; and one grandson, Jordan McClintick.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul.  Burial will follow at St. Francis Cemetery.  The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, at St. Francis Catholic Church.  The family will receive friends following the rosary.
