Michael Clyde Buck

Michael Clyde Buck, 67, beloved father, brother, son, and friend passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at his home in Richards, MO. Mike was born June 25, 1955 in Kansas City, MO to Clyde Junior and Neva Arlene (Phipps) Buck.

Mike was born and raised in Kansas City until 1969 when his family relocated to Vernon County. He attended Metz High School and graduated with the Class of 1973 and later graduated from Ft. Scott Community College. He began his career working at the Nevada Regional Medical Center in Diagnostic Imaging where he made many lifelong friends and retired in 2020 after 45 years of service. Mike was a lifetime member of the BPO Elks #564.

Mike enjoyed the farm life and all the amenities that went with it. He was an avid sports fan where he enjoyed playing basketball and watching his kids play sports throughout their childhood. His pride and joy were his grandkids and the time spent with them on the Ranger rides at the family farm. His quick wit and infectious laugh will never be forgotten. Mike was larger than life with his boisterous voice and personality. He truly was one of a kind and the positive impact he had on others will live on forever.

Mike is survived by his partner, Michelle Buck; four children, Kirk Buck (Kim), Nevada, Kristi Nowak (Dale), Spring, TX, Ryan Buck, Richards, and Hayden Buck (Caitlin), Richards; six grandchildren, Kirstin Buck and Kobe Buck, both of Nevada, Maci Nowak, Mason Nowak, and Madison Nowak, all of Texas, and Presten Buck, Richards; his mother, Arlene Buck, Richards; two sisters, Lee Anne Berryman, Kansas City, MO, and Debbie Gibbs, El Dorado Springs, MO; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews and the countless friends he made throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Junior Buck; two brothers-in-law, Wayne Gibbs, and David Berryman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with Pastor Steve Russ officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery in Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
