Ruth E Bozarth

Ruth Quade DeCluitt Bozarth, of Pierce City, died peacefully at home on November 15, 2022, after a brave battle with cancer. She is the wife of Albert Bozarth and was the daughter of Hubert (Pete) and Stella Quade who preceded her in death.

Ruth was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Carthage and graduate of Carthage High School, Class of 1966. Ruth is remembered for the caring love of her large family which includes previous husband Jerry DeCluitt, husband Albert Bozarth and 4 daughters: Melissa Jackson (Miles), Jennifer Fuller (Tommy), Ashley Bozarth and Brittany Walker (Matt). She adored her seven grandchildren who have fond memories of spending summers experiencing the beautiful Missouri outdoors by camping, canoeing, fishing, and gardening with their spirited grandmother. The grandchildren include Corey Jackson (Megan), Amanda Jackson, Daniel Jackson (Olivia), Kendall Jackson, Michael Smith, Lilly Syring and Graham Walker. She was also extremely proud of her three great-grandchildren Blakely Moore, Jack Messick and Declan Jackson.

Ruth is remembered for her generosity and caring for others. She fostered numerous children, served in a church ministry in both the South Bronx in New York City and Chicago and supervised a youth home in northern Minnesota. Professionally she worked as a medical technologist and received numerous accolades for her leadership and abilities. Most recently she served as Alderman
in Pierce City and championed a community food pantry.

Ruth and Al enjoyed the past years swimming, fishing, canoeing, and hiking in southwest Missouri. They also grew beautiful gardens to harvest and share with others. Ruth was also a talented cake decorator who made numerous special occasion cakes.

Ruth’s surviving siblings include Naomi Cupp (Jerry), John Quade (Sherry), Dan Quade (Ann) and Jim Quade (Sheri). She was preceded in death by sister Mary Quade (David Downs).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Benefit for Ruth Bozarth (Food Pantry) or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in care of Ulmer Funeral Home.
