Chuck Minor

Charles William “Chuck” Minor, age 67, Oswego, Kansas. passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, Kansas.

Chuck was an avid football fan who loved the Kansas City Chiefs almost as much as watching his grandson Durbie play linebacker for the Pittsburg State University Gorillas. Chuck was larger than life, and everyone who loved him thought of him as the strongest person they knew. He loved to tinker and could fix almost anything (usually using one of the many treasures he brought home as spare parts). Chuck was a protector of those he loved, especially his kids and the grandkids who knew him as Poppy.

He was born November 6, 1955, in Parsons, KS, to Wanda Mae Wheat Minor and the late Billy Glen Minor. He married Becky Schultz October 16th, 1980, and they later divorced. Before retiring, Chuck worked as a journeyman pipe-fitter often working on the road and traveling the country.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Minor and Tom Minor.

Survivors include his mother Wanda, two sisters, Marcia Thurmond and Karen Minor-Garza; two sons, Chad Teal and wife, Ronda, Oswego, KS; Charlie Minor and wife, Juli, Carthage, MO; one daughter, Candi Adams and husband, Zach, Girard, KS; fifteen grandchildren, Leighton, Lakyn, Lizzie, Lance, Sage, Jonny, Braiden, Cody, Tanner, Brycen, Max, Molly, Durbie, Mitch, Ranie; six great grandchildren; and his dog, Otis.
