Local organization celebrates its impact on southeast Kansas communities

PITTSBURG. Kan. – The Community Foundation of Southwest Kansas today hosted its annual Grant Celebration event.

In total, 91 grants were awarded throughout 2022.

Officials with the organization say the money came from the Foundation’s general grant funds such as:

  • The Rita J. Bicknell women’s health fund-giving circles
  • The Future Fund Giving Circle
  • The Get Busy Livin’ Foundation
  • The Elm Acres Foundation
  • The Knights of Columbus Endowment Fund

“We have so many nonprofits and organizations in southeast Kansas who do tremendous work day in and day out or serving individuals that need something in our community,” said Devin, Gorman, Executive Director. “The fact that we can help support their missions, their services, their projects. That’s really what it’s all about, is giving back and supporting our community.”

The Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas has been around since 2001.
