Rosemary Hutter

Rosemary Hutter, 92, of LaRussell, Missouri, passed away on October 25, 2022, at the Lawrence County Manor. She was born at home July 31, 1930, in the Terrell Creek community, Billings, Missouri to William L. and Lela Vival (Butler) Schatz.

Rosemary attended grade school at Tiede School and St. Joseph Catholic School and was a 1948 graduate of Billings High School.

She attended Southwest Missouri State and received a teaching certificate in 1950. She continued to take college courses for her undergraduate teaching degree. Her first teaching position was at Pleasant View School, Springfield, Missouri, where she taught grade school from 1950 to 1958.

On August 2, 1958, she married Burton Hutter in Fair Grove, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 5, 1989.

Rosemary and Burton settled on their farm in the Phelps community in 1958. Rosemary taught 3rd and 4th grades at Miller from 1958 to 1962. During this time, they welcomed their three children into their lives, Jeanne, Ray Dean, and James. Rosemary was truly a farm woman in that she was involved in the daily life of the farm operation until her death. She was a member of the Goss Cemetery Association and was an election poll worker for many years. She was a substitute teacher in later years for several of the local school districts.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Jeanne, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; two sons, Ray Dean, LaRussell, Missouri, and Jim (Leslie) Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tate, Hayes, Gibbs and Tess Hutter; her brother John V. Schatz, Billings, Missouri, and three nieces and one nephew.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Vival; her husband, Burton, and one brother Bill Schatz.

A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home in Miller. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31, 2022, at the Goss Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Goss Cemetery Association in care of the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers who cared for their mother during the final days of her life.
