Jesse Denton Jr.

Jesse Denton Jr., age 81, Carthage, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Mercy of Joplin.

Jesse was born June 17, 1941 in Mountain Home, Arkansas, son of the late Jesse Denton and Grace (Caroll) Denton.  He worked as an Iron Worker all his life, specializing in dam construction.  He traveled the United States working on dams, and was instrumental in the building of the dams on Beaver Lake and Bull Shoals Lake.  He was an avid Arkansas Razorbacks fan, loved playing golf with his friends, he even had a hole in one at Schefferdecker, but he was most happy spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Jesse was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Conley and Mabel Coward.

Survivors include his daughter, Becky Bartosh of Carthage, son, Barry Butler of Joplin; grandchildren, Zack Butler of Joplin and Slade Bartosh of Carthage; great-grandson, Press Butler of Joplin; several nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
