Driverless tractor strikes truck and kills pedestrian in Cherokee County

CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. – The Kansas Highway Patrol says one pedestrian was killed after a driverless tractor struck a truck and a pedestrian.

According to the crash report, the incident occurred off of Northwest Liberty Road in Cherokee County at around 11:00 A.M.

The KHP says a driverless tractor struck a 2006 Chevrolet truck and pedestrian Joseph M. Carlson, 73.

Carlson was taken to Via Christi Hospital in Cherokee County where he was pronounced deceased by Dr. Stebbins just after 12:00 P.M.

The crash report indicates that the incident was investigated by K14.
