Local Sheriff’s Department speaks with area youth

CARTHAGE, Mo. – Mark Twain Elementary in Carthage is celebrating community helpers this week, with the first of which being members of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers spoke with students today to discuss how their job impacts the community.

Students got to see first-hand demonstrations of police equipment such as vehicles and sirens.

This Thursday, the Carthage Fire Department will be at Mark Twain to conclude the celebration of Community Helpers Week at the elementary.
