John Floyd Banks, 79, a longtime resident of Miami passed away at his home on Thursday, October 6, 2022. Mr. Banks was born on July 27, 1943, in Maysville, Arkansas to James Willis and Hazel Dean (Fansler) Banks. John worked for years with AT&T before retiring. He then worked with Doug Masterson at Masterson Electric for several years. In John’s younger years he rodeoed and showed and sold his Champion Chickens all over the country. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and would hardly miss a trip to Canada Fishing. John was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Miami. Mr. Banks was preceded in passing by his parents James and Hazel Banks.
Those left to share John’s memory are his daughter Diedra Boswell of Miami, and two grandsons Daniel Boswell and James Boswell both of Miami along with his many close friends, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 10, 2022, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Miami.
Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville, Arkansas with Reverend Mark Nickles officiating.
