Emma “Joan” Hubbard

Emma Joan (Anderson) Hubbard, age 94, passed away peacefully on September 30,2022 in Alvin, TX.

She was born, raised and spent most of her life in Neodesha, KS, graduating from Neodesha High School -Class of 1945. Prior to her retirement, her work career included positions with Lorbeer Motors, Aaron’s Cosmotology, LH Moon, and Janice Yonning Accounting.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Christie (Hubbard) Greer of Alvin, Tx;

6 grandchildren: Jennifer (Watkins) Kleweno, Leslie Ann Watkins, Natasha Watkins, Christopher Watkins, Amy Greer and Angela Greer

5 great grandchildren

Daughter-in- law, Marge (Newby) Watkins

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Delva and Minnie (Redington) Anderson; 5 brothers: William,Lonnie,Charlie,Kenneth and Jesse (JW) Anderson; 3 sisters: Marguerite (Anderson) Tolliver, Dorothy (Anderson) Cook, and Remo (Anderson) Bryson; and her 2 sons Mike and Leslie Watkins.

Joan will lay in state at Countryside Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas from 12:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at the Neodesha Cemetery in Neodesha, KS.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Joan’s 2 sons, Mike and Leslie Watkins, and can be mailed to or left with the funeral home.
